I swear we had a thread open for short films, or am I just thinking of all the posts I put on Facebook regarding them?
Anyway, I'm out of here soon, so I'll add more to this tomorrow. Until then, enjoy this!

Every time... every single time I watch short films, I think about this thread, and then I promptly forget about it. No more! No more I say!
...
I love short films. I mean, I really love them. To me, it's like comparing a short story to a full novel; the author has to be able to clearly present a beginning, a middle, and an end, but it is done in such a way that yur mind races to fill in the blanks, desiring more. A full film is good and all, but be presented with a good solid short film? There's nothing like it.
It's an art.
But what's a short film? Some full length movies are 70 minutes. Some television episodes are 40 minutes. So what makes a short film a short film? For me, it cannot be episodic... it can't be a part of a series, it has to be self-contained. Second, it cannot be a part of an anthology; taken by itself, it might be a short film, but if it's packaged together, it becomes a collection. As far as length goes, I don't know; I've seen some great stuff that was under six minutes, while others took 25 to tell its story.
**Side note - If 'crunch can help me try to remember what that one short was called... the one with the motorcycle racing through the desolate over-grown city, with the drones chasing him, I'd be much obliged.**
A short, a good short, has to be able to do something a full movie can't: it makes you want more. With a film, you're left with the knowledge that there might be a sequel or a spin-off. There'll be more with a film. With a short, that's it, there is no more. And it hurts.
Take for example these two shorts: Silent City and
What the hell is going on?!
Whoops, time to start cleaning up for the day... post more later. Feel free to add!

Crunch does not remember the short film you speak of, but will assist the thread by sharing this one:
