| Was thinking of something else..... Now, let it be known that these are just thoughts. In a certain forum dealing with mobile artillery, there is a small button in the lower right of each post with a '+', a '-' and a numerical value whether a positive or a negative. (almost like a 'Like' or 'Dislike') That would be neat, either the number or word..... Just food for thought | |

| I will look further into this. In the meantime I think what members could do to show support is utilize the little '+' and '-' located near the top-right of a post, which I just noticed in your post. In fact, I've noticed them before, but had no clue what they did! Upon doing a mouse hover after reading your post, I discovered the little symbols link to php coding for member reputations! Wowee! I already fixed it and I didn't even do anything!
J/K...I will look into graphics or text or some better way to display those icons, and maybe move them to a more obvious location.
**Note: Ooh, I just clicked the plus in your post to see what would happen, and after my "vote has been cast" was displayed, there is now a green bar in your post instead of the plus and minus signs! NEAT!!**

| In mine old country, we had no pluses or minuses. We either were getting our rations, or we did not. | |

| So, unlike my earlier post, this one is serious...
In some boards I belong to, when a member was praised or what-have-you regarding a post, the would get an inboard message stating which post was praised... also, there was a link within the member profile which allowed that person to see what posts he had that were marked (both positively and negatively).
I am not asking or saying we should do the first part (messages) because that's just silly. BUT, is there a way or means that we can have on our profile page what posts we did that were marked + or - ? Make it seen by people clicking on our profiles? Heck, for all I know, there already is something like that, but I haven't found it yet.
That way, should we ever get past three active members, people will know what it is we are looking for, quality-wise or informational, or what we aren't.

| Okay, I just went through everything related to profiles, reputations, points, messages, and for soothsayer's benefit I even checked on egos. Of course, I found nothing else I could turn on or modify to make this work the way you asked. I even checked to see if there was a portal or forum widget that could be used...NOPE. I will say this, I visited the site as a guest, and the posts which have the 'good job' green bar still have a visible green bar for guests....AND (didn't know this before) if you hover over that green bar, it will tell you the percent of good and bad votes. THAT said, for now you could easily add topic names or even link to topics you're proud of in your signature. Hmmm...will see if I can add a text entry for the visible profile section (by the avatar) where you could do the same...but if a guest can see your avatar profile thing, they can see your signature. Again, not a perfect option, but it's there. Will look more when not reinstalling an OS on the laptop. | |
