| A brief review. It's taken a few days since seeing the film to really wrap my head around my feelings for this movie. I will now go ahead and give it two thumbs up! Some might be turned off by the full-length, non-stop getting high and sex jokes. Some might be annoyed at the extensive use of F-bombs. Some might be annoyed at the apparent complete childishness of the whole thing. I was even unsure if they were pushing the boundaries of decency. Thoughts now? I want to see it again! There are so few movies that are just so off-kilter fantasy that I want to start role-playing again, that when I see one it tends to strike a chord. This movie had decent actors and actresses (how Natalie Portman ever sank so low...???), a plot, awesome scenery, special effects I believe were designed to look like Power Ranger explosions and lightning, a muppet, and enough one-liners to keep someone going for at least a few days. It was a ???-minute long Krod Mandoon, with the made-for-tv kid gloves taken off and trampled. And hell, everybody in the movie at least tried to stick to their accents throughout! Yes, it was corny and childish. But I wasn't expecting a decent story wrapped into it. Every time a plot 'twist' popped up, I could see a table full of guys moaning and grumbling as the snooty DM chuckled at the turn of events he just unleashed. To me, there just aren't enough original movies like that. If you can watch a movie and get a picture of a table full of guys role-playing, and imagine "Yep, this session should be a movie," then that movie deserves special mention. So, Your Higness... (or maybe I just needed a fix of that kinda thing at the time...find out when I see it again...) | |

| Hey! The backdrop in the picture looks fake!
Gawd, must be something wrong with me if that's the first thing I noticed... | |
