No one. The one time I called in, LW stayed late and the new guy came in early. And then I made up my hours later that week.

Not THAT time...heh heh heh... I'm talking about:

soothsayer wrote:
So, this past Sunday I was scheduled to work from 3pm to 11pm. I came in at my normal 20 minutes early, enjoying a nice bowl of menthol pipe tobacco. Signed in at 2:55, at started work… by “work” I mean logging onto various websites. But I was at work.

4pm. The wife calls, at apparently there’s a bunch of stuff happening at home (of which, I am not privy to say). She’s in tears, so I feel as if it is my duty to go back home. I call my supervisor, the only person who wasn’t on the schedule, and ask her to come in, with which she does.

4:15, I’m out of here (after deleting browser history and temporary files).

taunt 2 my supervisor only person ask her to come in she does lol!

PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptyWed Aug 01, 2012 5:42 am

I don't consider that calling in since I was already here. Besides which, my supervisor called in later that same week and used the same generalized excuse that I gave. So once again, I made up my hours, which leads me to this:

What's the point of even taking a sick day or calling in or leaving early when I have to make those hours up? It's just safer to just come in and deal with it, instead of having a supervisor call in (repeatedly) and my having to go in for her.

...

I suppose some would consider her coming in the one time as payback for my having covered her shift several times, but I just don't see it that way.

Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptySat Aug 04, 2012 10:05 am

REVISED AND UPDATED

Sat Aug 4 - 7a to 3p
Sun Aug 5 - 7a to 7p
Mon Aug 6 - 7p to Tue 7a
Tue Aug 7 - 7p to Wed 7a

...

Fri Aug 10 - 3p to 11p
Sat Aug 11 - 7a to 3p
Sun Aug 12 - 7a to 3p
Mon Aug 13 - 3p to 11p
Tue Aug 14 - 11p to Wed 7a
Wed Aug 15 - 11p to Thu 7a

...

Fri Aug 17 - 3p to 11p
Sun Aug 19 - 7a to 3p
Mon Aug 20 - 7a to 3p
Tue Aug 21 - 11p to Wed 7a
Wed Aug 22 - 11p to 7a

...

So I found out the other day, Thursday to be exact, that someone was hired for the 3rd Shift position. Nice. I also then found out that I was supposed to train this person. I told my supervisor no, that I refuse by the simple fact that since I did not get that position, I obviously wasn't qualified enough, which then means that I surely wouldn't be qualified enough to train someone to take that spot. I then told my supervisor that I really don't care if she writes me up, puts it on my quarterly review or even contacts the district office... that if she did have me train the new person, who knows how poorly I might do it.

My supervisor buckled, I won't be training.

AND, as a warning to any and all employees of this shared mutual company, the worker we had a while back, King? She knows this person, and it does not bode well. King didn't come right out and say it, but going by tone and the words used, this person is a real winner. Great, that's all we need. Also, she's a bull dyke... seriously. If anyone wants to check out her facebook page, I'll message the link to you so can see for yourself.

PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptyMon Aug 27, 2012 5:06 pm

Geez. I know this is the only regularly active thread on this site, but I never knew just how much people crave to know when I work!

This may be a couple days past due, but what the hell, deal with it.

Friday Aug 24 - 3p to 11p
Saturday Aug 25 - 7a to 3p
Sunday Aug 26 - 7a to 3p
Monday Aug 27 - 3p to 11p
Tuesday Aug 28 - 11p to Wednesday 7a
Wednesday Aug 29 - 11p to Thursday 7a

...

Friday Aug 31 - 7a to 3p
Saturday Sept 1 - 7a to 3p
Sunday Sept 2 - 7a to 3p
Monday Sept 3 - 7a to 3p
Tuesday Sept 4 - 7p to 11p. 7p to 11p? Yep, but rant to follow...
Wed Sept 5 - 11p to Thursday 7a

Rant: Supervisor lady person is taking vacation Fri Aug 31 and Mon Sept 3, which is why I'm on 1st. However, she's only taking 12 hours of vacation, 8 on Friday and 4 on Monday. Instead of being a normal person and taking 8 hours for Monday, she, in all her wisdom, decided to "make up" those four hours of missed work and scheduled herself to work 12 hours on Tuesday; as such, instead of my having to work 8 hours, I'm only working 4. I have no idea what the hell she's thinking, but that's rather nuts... I may have to let her know my displeasure.

But, then again, I do have an interview tomorrow. Perhaps I should tell them I could work immediately.

Would sound like a valid plan, if you'd had any practice working over the last year or so. Might have to ease into it... don't wanna pull muscles and such. Razz

A year? Hell, been doing security since 2005... most I've ever had to do is walk around. That would explain how and why I've gained 90 pounds in that time frame.

New girl was fired. As such, I have an edit for next week's schedule; instead of posting an edit to my earlier post, I thought it be for the best to make a new entry so others would be aware right away, instead of being all confused by having edits.

Fri Aug 31 - 7a to 7p
Sat Sept 1 - 7a to 7p
Sun Sept 2 - 7a to 3p
Mon Sept 3 - 7a to 3p
Tue Sept 4 - 11p to Wed 7a
Wed Sept 5 - 11p to Thurs 7a

Please keep in mind this will all probably change again tomorrow.

Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 Empty
PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptySat Sep 01, 2012 7:19 am

Just found out this morning (rather interesting, since shadowcrunch seemed to have heard about it before me) that the guy we were just training has already quit, during his training period, after having found out that the company I work for will not provide insurance. And, to address 'crunch's comment, yes, that is a record; the previous was two days (both training), because that trainee "just couldn't handle it".

Handle it? Lack of benefits? Damn, people... you have a job. You know how many people are looking for a job? Sure, there aren't any benefits, but that just makes you eligible for state assistance!

*sigh*

Anyway, I'm rather glad I waitied until today to post my upcoming schedule, since the "update" I posted was changed on Thursday, and was somehow changed again yesterday. So here, then, is an updated updated update.

Sat Sept 1 - 7a to 7p
Sun Sept 2 - 7p to Monday 7a
Mon Sept 3 - 7p to Tuesday 7a
Tue Sept 4 - 11p to Wed 7a
Wed Sept 5 - 11p to Thur 7a
Thur Sept 6 - 11p to Fri 7a

...

Let's see if the supervisor has any schedule made out for the following week... be right back.

...

Nope, no schedule. She still has the new guy on that one. Maybe she'll work on it tomorrow.

PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptyWed Sep 05, 2012 8:23 am

There was one change to the above, but it really isn't here or there... my 'visor called in again, said she'd be coming in on Thursday instead of Wednesday... so I'm doing 7a to 7p on Wednesday instead of the night shift.

Because it seems she's never coming back (finger's crossed) I put together a schedule for next week. It like it; it gives our other guard a break (he's been doing 12s for about two weeks straight now, 79 hours in this week alone), gives everyone a little breather between shifts, and for some god awful reason, allows the 'visor to make up some hours she missed this week. Of course, she'll probably change everything when she comes back in; as Mrs Soothsayer has said, there's no way the 'visor will agree to working all weekend!

(I just noticed in the above post I have me working from Thursday 7p to Saturday 7a... holy crap! That should read Friday 7a)

Friday Sept 7 - 12m to 7a (carried over from Thursday); 7p to 7a Saturday morning
Monday Sept 10 - 7a to 7p
Tuesday Sept 11 - 7p to 7a Wednesday
Wednesday Sept 12 - 7p to 7a Thursday
Thursday Sept 13 - 7p to 7am Friday

PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptyThu Oct 11, 2012 9:16 am

I'm not going to mention how the last two posted schedules have changed, mainly because it's past the fact. However, I will meniton that this, the longest thread on COT2, has come to an end.

From here on out, unless there is an emergency situation or I am called to work elsewhere (due to an emergency), my schedule is as follows... Monday through Friday, 7:30a to 4:30p; within this time frame there is an hour off for lunch (and I can leave! For an hour!). NO weekends. NO working holidays (paid holidays to boot!)

With that said, for the time being, Soothsayer's schedule is hereby temporarily closed; I say temporarily mainly because who knows what the future holds. I'm not seeking an official closure due to that fact.

PostSubject: Re: Soothsayer's schedule   Soothsayer's schedule - Page 3 EmptySat Nov 03, 2012 10:47 am

I am reopening this, so to speak. I've found that this makes for a great way for me to keep track of my hours, especially when work still throws overtime at me.

Friday Oct 12 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Monday Oct 15 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Tuesday Oct 16 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Wednesday Oct 17 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Thursday Oct 18 - 7:30a to 4:30p

Friday Oct 19 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Saturday Oct 20 - 5a to 3p
Sunday Oct 21 - 5a to 3p
Monday Oct 22 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Tuesday Oct 23 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Wednesday Oct 24 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Thursday Oct 25 - 7:30a to 4:30p

Friday Oct 26 - - 7:30a to 4:30p
Monday Oct 29 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Tuesday Oct 30 - 7:30a to 4:30p
Wednesday Oct 31 - 7:30a to 11p
Thursday Nov 1 - 7:30a to 11p

Please note the week of Oct 19 through Oct 25... see Sat and Sun? My company charged those hours as overtime. Hours from the beginning of the pay period as overtime? Makes no sense; I wrote them an email this past Wednesday (Oct 31) concerning this, and have yet to get a response. I am curious as to what will happen from this last week; the days of Oct 31 and Nov 1 were actually split between two locations, but my time was continuous... I wonder how they will justify charging overtime for something from the middle of the week.

Uber Xcited

(shaking the dust off of this thread)

Alrighty, posting this so I don't lose track come pay-day. I'm picking up some extra hours tonight over at Stanton... 6p to 11p in the shack, then 12:30a to 2a sitting in Stanton's parking lot. Hey, whatever, more money is more money.

Lucky for me I brought my tablet today. And my PSP. Yep, working hard. Smile

Stanton. Apparently you have to have more specialized training when writing down the weight of a truck when it's on a scale.

Working Thanksgiving Day, 7a to 3p, over at the shack. Because of the position I currently work, I get paid holidays off, but as this is a family orientated holiday and knowing I'll make more with holiday than my regular, I figured why not. I still have the Friday off, so no big deal.

Anyone else here working that day?
